The first chapters of The Drifter proved very entertaining but not very difficult puzzle wise. Some puzzles play out in real-time and required a couple of tries. The game offers subtle hints after a couple of tries which is really helpful. The first one I couldn’t wrap my head around turned out to be logical after I learned what to do. I just hadn’t tried everything out.
It always amazes me how you still can get stuck with just a limited number of options. The Drifter is not a game I need to take notes to complete like most old point-and-click adventure games, but I could have figured this puzzle out if I just had written down all the options available. Let’s hope there are still a couple of puzzles coming that’ll require a little thinking. The story is excellent, but if there are no puzzles I can just watch a movie.
