Mortville Manor is an adventure game from Lankhor from 1988. I never played this one, but I remember playing one of their other games in the early nineties: Maupity Island. Well, “played” is a really big word here, because I only booted it up a couple of times, loved the atmosphere, but didn’t know what to do, and quickly sacrificed the floppies for another game.
This Mortville Manor looks cool too. And now that I have a complete game with the manual (something that I didn’t have for most of the games in the nineties ;), I hope it’ll be more clear what is to be done.
It’s the typical smaller type of boxes that were not uncommon for the Amiga. It’s even too small for the manual that’s all crinkled up. The disk boots up just fine, like most of the disks do with the games I pick up. Not bad for a 38 year old disk! I don’t get why people say these things are not reliable.
But while the game boots up fine, I can’t get anywhere with it, because clicking the mouse doesn’t do anything. I can move the mouse pointer around the screen, but I cannot click the button to start the game. Bummer!
I’m happy with this addition to the collection and would like to have the other games from Lankhor as well, but I’m not holding my breath as those seem in high demand judging by the prices on Ebay.
