Running away still

I took some notes while playing Ruaway: Twist of Fate.

I think I need to get my roommate his suspenders back so that he feels like a proper contortionist again and I can convince him to get into the airduct.

The evil nurse took his away so I need to lure her out of her office. Brian keeps mentioning that the last time the radiators went on the fritz, the nurses came running. There are a lot of radiators in every room that can be looked at and touched. But I probably need tools. I’ll investigate the one in my room more closely.

I knew i should have taken the manual along. Then I surely would have read the part about the built-in hint system. For someone who treasures collecting games in box with the manual, not bringing the manual along on vacation was a oversight.

The hint system told me that I should do something about another patient’s sore throat. I gave him a gum and that triggered a cut scene. A great puzzle which sadly fell flat for me because only when the cut scene started did I notice that the guy was using the table tennis table as an imaginary car. I had that idea earlier, but it didn’t quite register at that time. If the visuals had been different, it would have been clearer to me and I maybe would have known better  what I needed to do. Although, I still don’t know why I needed to do this. I have a feeling it’s because I can get my hands on the bands around the other patient’s suitcase (suspenders?), but earlier it wasn’t mentioned that the suitcase had bands. It would have been clearer if the guy with the sore throat had tried to make driving noises, but didn’t succeed because of his throat. Also, I had already switched the sign the other patient was holding and probably missed out on the fun of solving this puzzle.

I hope this will not happen again. Now I will need to figure out how to proceed next.

I did that, by using a weight on one of the radiators. I found this not the most obvious item to break a radiator with, but that was easy to think of. What was not clear was that you have to to it while one of the patients is yelling. This is once again not too illogical, but I still had trouble figuring it out, because Brian told me that he would break the radiator, but there was no animation. He didn’t tell me that he wouldn’t do it because it was too noisy.

Now I have to get access to the janitor’s bag.

I managed that by setting him up against the orderly. The game then proceeded with a rather long cut scene. Those all go a bit too quick on the DS for me to understand what’s going on. But lucky for me you can watch them multiple times even if it means quiting out of the game and booting it up again. I haven’t found a way to quit to the menu. But maybe that’s explained in the manual which I failed to bring along.

The next parts I played through without much trouble and without taking notes.

Gina did her thing in the house of the guy who was murdered and the story progressed further.

In the next part Brian managed his escape by crawling through tunnels, discovering nasty parts of the facility, doing all sorts of things to a corpse, getting medicated and tazered, while leaving his friend in an awkward pose.

Next was a lengthy cut scene about stuff that probably happened in the previous game which I haven’t played. Now Brian is lying unconscious in a dirty alley while Gina is watching Brian’s sessions with the by now deceased Dr. Bennett.
