Doing fun stuff in Foolish Mortals, like belowsing a chicken

Sixteen hours into Foolish Mortals and I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. I’ve progressed to the point where I need to discover the fate of the Bellmore Brothers and the game opens up more and more rooms and spaces.

What makes me enjoy the game so much is mostly due to the characters with their strong voice-acting and funny situations. Like a nasty girl with world dominating aspirations having a tea party with a Murray-esque companion. And the superstitious rumrunners. And the obligatory nasty doorman at the captain’s club. Also the captains themselves are great fun, as is the drunken veteran getting annoyed by the constant bickering with the pastor, the ghost boy. The list goes on and on.

Although the puzzles are not very difficult, making notes helps to keep my focus

Having the ability to go back to a character to talk to them about new findings and see them react to it is a great attention to detail.

Most puzzles are maybe a bit on the easy side, but some had me momentarily stumped. So I guess the difficulty level is about right. The only puzzle I didn’t get up until now was the one with the stairs. Having the ability to toggle the action sequences off was a life-saver with that one.

I now need to look up an obituary in the newspaper archives. But the (funny!) journalist doesn’t let me…
