Quite a while ago already my 1541 diskdrive failed on me. I never get around to trying to fix it and I’ve been on the look out for a 1541-II for some time now. The shorter form factor makes it fit better in my current setup. Also, the 154-II is the drive that I originally bought back when I had my first Commodore 64 when I was a kid.

The new drive works fine. It is very yellow and it has no Jiffy DOS like the old one. I have to see if I can remedy that. Now where did I buy it before?

Due to a lack of space I have to choose between my current setup with the Turbo Chameleon V2 connected to a BenQ BL702A and a more traditional setup with the 1451-I and the 1701 crt. I would love to have them both on display. Maybe someday…
