The Turbo Sentinel

After I finished Heroes & Cowards, I wanted to get serious with Sam’s Journey. But I can’t get the Chameleon to save my progress while playing the cartridge version, and I can’t get the disk version running. And I’m having some issues with my SD2IEC, so I guess that’s not going to happen.

After fiddling with these issues for about an hour or so, I just wanted to play a game and I decided to try out The Sentinel on the C64 with the turbo function of the Chameleon enabled. And I must say it does wonders. Without it, the game is so slow, it’s just not playable. Certainly not after trying out the Amiga version. With it, however, it may be even faster than the Amiga version. The controls are a bit wonky, but after 15 minutes I got the hang of it and beat the first level. I’m seeing myself playing this game for the rest of my life. We’ll see…
