More random addition: big box Shannara, Wacky Wheels cd-rom, Towers of Midnight & Witches Abroad

Shannara is a fantasy book series that I’ve never read. I’ve also never played the point-and-click-adventure game they made about it. But it’s a Legend game and seeing as I have a couple of other games from that developer in my collection it certainly warrants a place amongst them. The game looks like it has wonderful graphics and it reminds me of Quest for Glory – which is not surprising as the same creators where involved. The Digital Antiquarian happily recommends it to anyone looking for a bit of comfortable, non-taxing fantasy fun. And I might be looking for just that on a rainy sunday afternoon.

A game that has been (and still is) on my radar is Wacky Wheels. An early cart racing game that I used to play when I wanted to prove that my PC could provide just as much gaming fun as my Super Nintendo. It would be awesome to have a proper boxed copy for my games collection, but that hasn’t proved financially justified yet. So for the time being, I bought the cd-rom version to put alongside my other racing games. I have a couple of more games that aren’t in big boxes also, like Out Run and Buggy Boy for the Commodore 64, OutRun 2006 and the first A2 Racer.

To other pickups are the second to last book in the Wheel of Time series, Towers of Midnight. I only need one more to complete the whole set. And then I can fully commit to collecting all the hard cover Discworld novels. With the addition of Witches Abroad, I now have all the 13 books from The Colour of Magic to Small Gods.
