Bought my childhood F-14 A Revell construction kit again

A few months ago I prepared myself for the coming Christmas holiday period by thinking about what we wanted to do in that vacation. We weren’t going on a trip, so we had to enjoy ourselves by staying at home. That’s no problem for us, but it is nice to do things that you don’t normally do. One of the things I thought about was building a model construction set together with my son. He wasn’t to excited by the prospect though, so I didn’t take immediate action.

I did however browse through the local online secondhand marketplace to see what was available. I thought about the sets I’ve made as a teenager. There was a marine ship, a truck, a Mercedes cabrio, and also a fighter yet. A F-14 A Tomcat to be precise.
It turned out that precisely the same fighter set was being offered in the same packaging as I had back in the day.

I bid on it, but the seller didn’t respond and as I wasn’t in a hurry, I didn’t pursue it further. Then a couple of weeks ago, I was overbid. I put in another bid and after a while that was accepted. Yeah! Now, a week later I have it in my possession, and it brings back a lot of memories. It’s the same box from 1986 that I had and it’s still complete.

I showed it to my son and he likes it. Now to get the paint and the glue, and we’re set for a couple of weekends. This is going to be fun!
