After my recent pickup of a boxed copy of Night Mission Pinball, I continued my hunt for another game I played when I first had my Commodore 64. And according to Lemon64 that game is named Billiards.
I had this game on a tape with lots of pirated games. I only had pirates games back then. I remember having fun with this game and rediscovered it sometime in the last ten years while browsing through the incredible experience that is Lemon64. Ever since rediscovering it, I have wanted a physical copy. But I never saw one turn up.
So recently, I decided to ask on Lemon64 whether anyone has seen what the physical copy looks like to help me in the search. It must exist, because there are a handful of users on Lemon64 that own the game. And my interpretation of stating that you own a game is that you have the actual thing and not a pirated copy. But others might have a different opinion on that.
Furthermore, I reckon all the pirated games I had for my C64 back then must have been official physical releases. Shareware didn’t exist back then.
The knowledgeable Lemonners quickly pointed out that the game was also called “Pool” and that it was released in Japan for the Max machine. Another Lemonner was so kind and gifted to make a custom cassette inlay. What joy!
After Final Fantasy VI, this is the second “reproduction” for my collection in a short while. I wonder if anymore will follow.
Now this memorable game (to me at least), can have a place on my shelf. All thanks to the wonderful C64 community.
