I bought the paperback version of Further explorations, the companion to 50 years of text games book. The intro states that it is a modest companion and that it definitely is. The original book was a massive beast, but this is a bit of an underwhelming experience. Looking only at the presentation of the booklet, it’s more of a € 15 experience than the € 20 I paid for it.

But it’s the interior that counts. And that is what I’m sure I will enjoy. I’ll start with the chapter about Planetfall, which I still haven’t finished. I’m stuck at figuring out what to do. I’m sort of like wandering around the underground facility. Sad about what happened to Floyd and wondering if I should have done things differently.

If I understand correctly, there are also some bits about visual novels inside the book. It would be nice to read about those, and what people find appealing about them. There’s lots to explore further!
