Tristam Island, an interactive fiction mystery has arrived

About half a year ago, I preordered Tristam Island from poly.play and just before the end of 2023 it has arrived. The game is an interactive fiction mystery by Hugo Labrande/Jacquard Entertainment. It has been available as digital download since 2020, but I never got around to it. And when I learned that it would have a physical release, I decided to wait for that. As with other poly.play releases, the game is very low-priced for what you get. There’s a poster, some stickers, a manual, a postcard, a letter, a “How to Play Interactive Fiction” card, a mysterious rock sample, a Hint Booklet, a memory card and in my case, the game disk for the Amiga. Outside of the box was also a gigantic poster for Hibernated 1: Director’s Cut. The poster is four times larger than the poster included in the regular box from Hibernated 1: This place is Death! Beautiful to look at, but I don’t know what to do with it. The poster is nice, but I wish that they hadn’t put the Infocom-styled border around it.

As with all new additions that arrive in my collection, I’m looking forward to playing it, but don’t know when that will be.
