While ordering presents for the family, I couldn’t resist adding some items for myself. Also my daily search on the local online marketplace proved fruitful. These are the games I can now add to my collection:
- Torreoscura, a limited edition cartridge for the Commodore 64
- Dungeon Siege II – Deluxe Edition
- Shadow of the Beast for the Atari Lynx
- Trackmania Turbo for the PS4
- Full Void for the Evercade
- Prophecy for the IBM PC/Tandy
I encountered Torreoscura while browsing the net and thought it would be a nice addition to my growing collection of new text-adventure games for the C64/Amiga. I remember reading about it in one of the ZZap!64 Annuals. I looked up the article and it mentions that a review would follow in a later issue, but it didn’t show up in the next annual and I don’t read the regular issues, so it went below my radar.
I always wanted to have a copy of Dungeon Siege. Not because I played it back in the day, but because I had it to play Ultima V: Lazarus. Sadly, except for Asian releases, I didn’t see any nice boxed versions. Because of my continuing search for the first game in the series, a result for a nice version of the second game turned up. It’s also no big box release, but it has it’s own charm (it comes with a map for instance) to it and will do until I find a better option.
My recent purchase of Unseen (still to arrive) for the Atari Lynx has renewed my interest in the system. My unit is still broken, but I have contacted a repair service. To justify the costs of a repair, I decided that I wanted to invest in nicer editions of games for the system. I only have two boxed copies of games that were released during the lifespan of the system, which are Ishido and Super Skweek. Some other games I would like to have complete are Blue Lightening, Toki and California Games, because I had those as a teenager. Another game that I would like to have complete is Shadow of the Beast. And that’s because I played that on my Amiga back in the day. But I don’t want to shell out for an Amiga copy right now. And I liked playing SotB on the Lynx when I played it a couple of years ago. I do have the game on cart. And now I have a boxed copy as well!

My recent play sessions of Hotshot Racing on the PS4 made me want to play other racing games. Trackmania Turbo fills that want nicely. What a great game!
Full Void on the Evercade looks very nice. I won’t be playing it soon, because I just played through Another World and I first want to play through Flashback.

Prophecy (a.k.a. Prophecy I: The Fall of Trinadon) is a game that turned up in my daily search of the local online market place. It looks like a game that belongs in my collection. Sadly, it doesn’t have the manual included, so I need to keep an eye out for that. The price I paid for it was very modest, so I don’t feel to bad about it. It benefits from my recent expansion of shelves for rpg games and sits nicely next to Castle Master and Times of Lore. Another game mentioned in the CRPG Book that’s in my collection.
