Whenever I see a retro computer game being offered for sale and it’s an rpg that I don’t know, I quickly check the CRPG book if it’s any good. And such was the case with Wizards & Warriors. It looked interesting, I didn’t know about it, and the CRPG book says it’s quite good. Apparently, it compares favorably to its contemporary, Wizardry 8. I did play that game for a little bit, not too long after its release. Probably only the first battle or so. That was enough to convince me that it was not the game for me. I’m curious to see if I like this game better. It reminds me of Might & Magic IX. Not a game I liked very much back in the day, but somehow it is a game I have some nice memories of.
