Yesterday I finally defeated Irenicus and finished Baldur’s Gate II for the first time. It was a fitting ending to a great story. I had to lower the difficulty setting towards the end. Probably because I don’t fully understand all the mechanics. It is a much more demanding game than most modern rpgs. I’m a bit burned out with this game so I won’t be playing the expansion Throne of Bhaal. I can see myself playing BG1 and 2 and the expansions again somewhere in the far future, but not at this point. There are many more games that demand my attention. I think I’ll be playing Beyond a Steel Sky next, and maybe also the first Fallout. I’m happy that I can now say that I have played both Baldur’s Gate games through until the end.
